1. About The Fishbox
The Fishbox is a pre-order fish and meat delivery service in Chennai, India. We source fresh fish, prawns, crabs, chicken, and mutton from wholesale markets every morning and deliver to pre-orders placed the previous night.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years of age to place an order
- You must be located within our Chennai delivery area
- By ordering, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and complete
3. Account & OTP Authentication
The Fishbox uses passwordless email OTP login. No password is ever created or stored. You receive a one-time 6-digit code valid for 10 minutes when you want to sign in or place an order.
- You are responsible for keeping your email account secure
- Report any unauthorised access to us immediately
- Guest checkout is available โ email verification at checkout only
4. Orders
4.1 Placement
Orders must be placed before 10:00 PM for next-morning delivery. By ordering you confirm someone will be available to receive delivery between 6 AM and 9 AM at the address provided.
4.2 Confirmation
An order is confirmed only after successful payment (or COD acceptance). You will receive a confirmation email and WhatsApp message.
4.3 Modifications
Once placed, order modifications are not guaranteed. Contact us before 10 PM and we will try to accommodate changes subject to availability.
5. Pricing and Payment
- All prices are in Indian Rupees (โน)
- GST at 5% applies on all food items as per Indian tax law
- Prices may change based on daily market rates at Kasimedu. We aim to keep prices stable
- Payment accepted via UPI, credit/debit card, net banking, and Cash on Delivery
- Online payments processed by Razorpay โ we do not store payment details

- Delivery area: Chennai only
- Free delivery above โน399; โน40 charge below
7. Product Quality
- All products are sourced fresh the morning of delivery โ never frozen
- Fish must be refrigerated or cooked promptly after delivery
- The Fishbox is not liable for quality issues caused by incorrect storage after delivery
- Weights are approximate (ยฑ5%) โ fresh fish weight varies slightly after cleaning
- Product images are illustrative; actual appearance may vary by season and catch
8. Cancellations and Refunds
See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for full details. Key point: cancel before 10 PM for a full refund; no cancellations after 10 PM.
9. Prohibited Use
- Using the website for any unlawful purpose
- Placing fraudulent orders or providing false information
- Abusing the refund policy through false quality claims
- Attempting to hack, scrape, or disrupt the website
- Commercial resale of our products without permission
10. Intellectual Property
All content on thefishbox.in โ including logo, photographs, descriptions, and design โ belongs to The Fishbox or its licensors. You may not reproduce or distribute any content without written permission.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, our liability for any claim is limited to the value of the specific order in question. We are not liable for indirect losses, business loss, or delays due to circumstances beyond our control (heavy rain, traffic, market disruptions).
Allergy notice: We handle multiple fish and seafood products. If you have a food allergy, please contact us before ordering. We cannot guarantee allergen-free environments.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these terms at any time. Changes are posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our service constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
